Marcus Rashford offers worrying update as he speaks out over ‘months and months of abuse’ after being booed by Man United fans – as supporters pin the blame on YouTuber’s rants
Marcus Rashford has delivered a worrying message to fans on social media, revealing he has endured ‘months of abuse’, with Man United supporters putting some of the blame on YouTuber Mark Goldbridge.
The 26-year-old attacker has had a difficult season on the field. He failed to match his 30-goal performance during the 2022/2023 campaign, scoring eight times in all competitions so far this season.
Goldbridge runs a fan channel called The United Stand, which has 1.85 million subscribers on YouTube. He has recently released several videos criticizing the England star, most notably once calling Rashford ‘about as useful as a wheelie bin without wheels’.
On Thursday evening, Rashford responded to a post on X (formerly Twitter) saying the criticism he was receiving was unfair. The message read: ‘The way Marcus Rashford is being treated is absolutely disgusting. It’s cruel. It’s abuse.’
The United striker wrote back claiming he was fed up with the abuse he has suffered in recent months. ‘I appreciate your support! It’s abuse and has been for months. Enough is enough,” Rashford said on X.

As a team, Erik ten Hag’s side have had a difficult season, dropping out of the Champions League and having now dropped to sixth in the Premier League standings, with several United stars recently coming under heavy scrutiny for their achievements by a number of former pros and experts.
Last Sunday, United advanced to the FA Cup final after beating Championship club Coventry City on penalties, despite giving away a three-goal lead in the match.
Goldbridge posted a video on his YouTube channel reflecting on the match claiming Ten Hag left Rashford on the pitch for too long. He said: ‘I’ll leave Rashford behind, who is about as useful as a wheeled bin with no wheels.’
In a separate video after the semi-final, he added: ‘Why is he [Rashford] is there still picking? Why isn’t it changing, when is it going to change? I’m out of excuses, I don’t know what to say. He shouldn’t be playing for Manchester United right now. It’s humiliating.’
He added: “What I want to know is is it in his contract [to keep starting]?’

Another seemed to echo the same sentiment, writing: ‘According to Mark Goldbridge, it’s in Rashford’s contract to start every match. These types of claims are so toxic.”
Rashford has also recently hit back at some fans who questioned his commitment to Manchester United. Earlier this season the forward missed training after being photographed on a night out at a Belfast nightclub.
“Listen, I’m not a perfect person,” Rashford wrote in an article published in the Players’ Stand. “If I make a mistake, I’ll be the first to raise my hand and say I need to do better.
‘But if you ever question my commitment to Man United, then I have to say so.
“It’s like someone is questioning my entire identity and everything I stand for. I grew up here. I have been playing for this club since I was a boy. My family turned down life-changing money when I was little so I could wear this badge.”

United came back from a goal down against Sheffield United on Wednesday to seal a 4-2 win, with Goldbrige posting another video online criticizing Rashford’s influence in the team.
Goldbridge questioned whether United have enough shots on target when Rashford is on the pitch.
‘Do we do that if Rashford is in the team? “I don’t know because it’s Sheffield United, that’s the honest answer,” he said.
‘But tell me we do that regularly? Not us, not us. We don’t regularly have twelve shots on target and a passing accuracy of 90 percent. We don’t do that regularly.’
Another user wrote on
“Mark Goldbridge is waging a well-thought-out hate campaign and he must be stopped.”
The YouTuber has previously made a number of explosive rants online, recently calling their late 4-3 defeat to Chelsea an ‘injustice’.
Rashford has also previously spoken out against racist abuse following England’s final defeat to Italy at the 2020 Euros.
He, Jadon Sancho and Bukayo Saka were messaged online after missing penalties during the final.

‘Maybe I’ve lost my love for football a bit [after being racially abused following Euro 2020]”That wasn’t for a long period of time,” Rashford said.
‘My shoulders were down for a few months too, and it was probably on my mind a bit more then.
‘After that it went fine. I was desperate to play in a United shirt again. I love just playing football and as soon as I did that I wanted to play for England again.”
Former Man United defender Paul Parker also fell out at Goldbrige last year, claiming the YouTuber had been the cause of some ‘issues’ at the club.
Parker told BonusCodeBets: “I don’t like what Mark Goldbridge is doing.
‘It’s a problem. Everyone has to make a living, but you have to have a very, very thick skin to make money doing something you don’t like.
‘He has no relationship with Man United, he is a Nottingham Forest fan. It’s actually an incredible skill to do that… Making money doing something you don’t like.
‘He attacks the club, the manager and the owners of a football club you don’t even like. He has no inner feeling for the club and it’s a scary but incredible feeling to be so invested in a club you don’t support.
