A former private school vice captain has been charged with murder along with his father after a body was found in a bunker in a man-made pit.
The body of father-of-two Steven Murphy was discovered by police in a hole in a property in Kudla, Adelaide’s northern suburbs on Tuesday, two months after he went missing.
Keith Yandle, 46, was charged with the alleged murder of Mr Murphy on Thursday, as was his 19-year-old son Marco.
Marco was a talented football player, vice-captain and successful student who studied at the prestigious Trinity College.

The body of father-of-two, Steven Murphy, was discovered by police on Tuesday in a hole in a Kudla property in Adelaide’s northern suburbs.
The news of Marco’s murder charge has sent shockwaves through the local population.
Maisen McInerney, who worked at Domino’s with Marco, said the news “blew my head.”
“I saw it on the news and when they said it was Marco Yandle I just thought ‘No way, that’s ridiculous,'” he said. The advertiser.

Nick Hately, Principal of Trinity College, said the school community was also shocked.
“We can confirm that one of the defendants was recently a student leader at Trinity College,” Hately said.
“Many in our community are in shock trying to process what might have happened.
“Our prayers are all affected by these grave and very tragic events.”
The body of 38-year-old Murphy was found in a 15-by-15-foot man-made bunker under a backyard shed.

Keith Yandle was taken into custody earlier this week and charged with drug and firearms offenses after police found 20 cannabis plants when they began searching the property in Kudla.
Officers had gone there after a tip on Sunday that there might be a body in the building.
The site was cleared before excavators were deployed to dig the hole under the shed, revealing the remains.
Police believe Mr Murphy’s body may have been in the bunker for about six weeks, the same period of time he was reported missing.

On Wednesday, the police seized evidence from the ‘grave’ in the bunker
Police had previously posted an appeal regarding Mr Murphy’s whereabouts on Facebook.
He was last seen in Kudla on Feb. 15 with online speculation that he had been squatting in local farm buildings.
Both Marco and Keith Yandle are in custody and will appear in court next week.
