Marcia Hines slams Seven’s embarrassing on-air fail… after being rushed to hospital during Australian Idol taping

Marcia Hines has heavily criticized Channel Seven for an embarrassing failure following her shocking health scare.

The 70-year-old’s name was misspelled as ‘Marcian Hines’ in a network report after she collapsed in her dressing room on Sunday ahead of the Australian Idol final.

Taking to Instagram on Monday, the fan favorite shared a screen capture of the cringe-inducing blunder.

In the funny post, Marcia added a filter that made her look like a green ‘Martian’ with three eyes.

The veteran singer also added an animated flying saucer to the story and used the creepy theme from the X-Files as the soundtrack.

It comes after WSFM radio presenter Brendan ‘Jonesy’ Jones shared the Channel Seven mistake with Marcia.

‘The new spelling of her name would no doubt have come as a huge shock! PS get well soon Marcia!!’ he said in a message to the Star.

Followers reacted with amusement to Seven’s mistake and quickly sent messages of support to Marcia on Jones’ post.

“I didn’t know there was a Marcia de Marcian,” said one fan.

‘Her colleagues can’t even spell her name!!’ added another, referring to the fact that the error occurred on the same network that airs Idol.

Another follower joked: ‘Some relationship with tennis player Venusian Williams.’

Marcia made headlines on Sunday after she was was rushed to hospital after a ‘medical emergency’.

The veteran performer collapsed in her dressing room on the set of the reality series ahead of airing and injured her head during the fall.

A source told Ny Breaking Australia that Hines was ‘about to perform’ on the show before he collapsed and was taken to hospital by ambulance.

And on Monday, Marcia returned to Australian Idol and addressed her absence at the start of the grand finale episode.

Fans sent get-well wishes to Marcia as they criticized Seven’s blunder.

However, Hines had a cut on her head from her fall that has been sewn up.

‘I feel fine. I would like to thank everyone who contacted me. I really appreciate it,” she told the audience and viewers.

‘And you should know: I couldn’t have missed this for the world. That wasn’t possible.’
