Man sparks fierce debate after making SHOCKING claims about his wife’s ‘period management’

A husband has sparked a heated debate after making shocking claims about his wife’s ‘menstrual control’, including leaving used sanitary towels on the bed for their dog to lick.

The man, whose name has not been released, took to Reddit to express his concerns about his wife’s hygiene, admitting that he is “disgusted” by their blood-stained sheets and mattress.

In his uninhibited tirade, he listed the various practices that disgusted him, such as how his wife often left ‘her underwear with a lot of blood on the floor of the bedroom or bathroom’.

He wondered if he was wrong in a thread titled ‘Am I the asshole?‘ while he admitted that he had always been sickened by menstrual blood.

At the end of his post, he pleaded with social media users to come to his aid and help him come up with a plan to improve his wife’s habits.

The post was titled, “Would I Be an Asshole if I Asked My Wife About Her Menstrual Cycle?”

He began his intense story by confessing that he had never lived with a woman before marrying his wife and that he didn’t know how to handle the situation.

“My wife is driving me crazy, I don’t know the deep difficulties of keeping track/managing the time of the month, but she always gets caught out. I’ve never lived with a woman before my wife, so I’m not sure if this is the norm,” he said.

The anonymous husband then listed the various things that made him angry with his wife.

He added: ‘Our mattress is covered in period blood stains, and the first one appeared within three days of me getting it, which I was really upset about, but I didn’t bring it up. A lot of our sheets are stained too.

‘She often leaves underwear with a lot of blood on it on the bedroom or bathroom floor.

‘If she has to use toilet paper, she sometimes leaves it in the toilet without flushing.

“Sometimes she leaves her used pads on the bed and goes to work. We recently got a dog and she licked one of them off the other day, so I think something needs to change.”

The anonymous man took to Reddit to express his concerns about his wife’s hygiene, admitting that he is “disgusted” by their blood-stained sheets and mattresses.

He said he had previously tried to discuss this issue with his wife, but she had blown him off.

The husband wrote: ‘There have been times when I’ve mentioned some of the above points and the responses have been something like, “Grow up, it’s just blood. All you have to do is look at it and you’ll never understand how horrible it is for a woman.” (Paraphrased.)’

He then admitted that he had always hated menstrual blood and that the fact that he now lived with his wife had not diminished his aversion to it.

And while he claimed he didn’t like seeing the blood-covered personal care products, he did his best to make sure his wife didn’t feel guilty about it.

‘I’ve always hated menstrual blood, and that’s my problem/choice. Ever since the first time I looked down and saw my penis covered in blood, I decided I’d rather not go anywhere near it again, and as childish as that may sound to some, I think that’s okay.

“I never tried to make anyone feel bad about it, but I did draw that line,” he said.

The husband admitted that he had been racking his brains over a comparison that would be as bad as his wife’s menstrual habits.

He said: ‘The only comparison I can think of is if I left used tissues lying around the house after I… [masturbating]or just put it on the bed and let it dry. I would never do that of course, but that’s probably not a fair comparison.’

At the end of his message, he wondered if he would be the bad guy if he asked her to clean up her mess.

He asked, “Would I be the asshole if I brought this up and asked her to do something different?”

People online flooded the comments section to defend the husband, while offering various solutions to help his wife get her periods under control

People on the internet jumped on the comments to defend the man, offering all sorts of solutions to help his wife get her period under control.

Someone wrote: ‘Not the asshole. I have to admit I was ready to call you the asshole at first, but her hygiene habits are not up to par.

‘First of all, with the mattress thing, that’s definitely something that happens. It’s often hard to predict when a period is coming and if she’s bleeding really heavily, the only thing you can do is put a rubber sheet down. That’s my main suggestion. Just put a rubber sheet or mattress protector under the other sheets.

“And what about the other stuff? Leaving bloody pads on the bed? It’s perfectly reasonable of you to ask her not to do that and to make sure she throws them in the trash. And flushing the toilet after you use it is just basic etiquette.

‘As for the bloody underwear, maybe you could discuss having her put a special bucket in the shower or something where she can soak the underwear with stain remover between washes.

“Is her hygiene questionable in other ways too, or just when it comes to her period? Because yeah, most of this is just a matter of basic considerations of the people you live with.”

Someone else added: ‘This is all perfect advice! OP, also get a trash can with a foot pedal/locking lid for the bathroom. Dogs have been known to get into the trash with feminine products.

“Not that asshole. I hope your wife takes this seriously. This is a health issue and also disrespectful to the people she shares a space with.”

Another user commented: ‘Absolutely. His wife is a lazy and unhygienic person. Of course accidents happen. You get a mattress protector. Everything I read from there just got worse and worse! She’s an asshole. It’s not hard to clean up after yourself. Not the asshole.’

“Not that bastard. Getting her period in bed at night is one thing. It happens a lot. Especially if she’s irregular. She can’t help it if she gets her period at night.

“Not picking up her dirty underwear and pads and not picking them up is a whole different ball game. Yes, she can’t help it when she gets her period, but it’s still a little gross to just leave stuff lying around. It’s irresponsible, especially with pets. When I was growing up, I had a dog who loved using pads. It was gross. We have a bin with a lid to keep her out.

“It’s normal to get your period, but it’s also normal to eat. We throw the leftovers in the trash and we do the dishes,” said someone else.

Someone else wrote: ‘Not that asshole. You’ll get caught, especially if you’re not regular. And you can control blood on the mattress by buying a mattress protector. But leaving used mattresses on the bed or floor is not okay. Especially if you have pets! It’s not unreasonable of you to ask for them to be thrown in the bin when you take them out.’

Another person commented: ‘Not that asshole. Your wife is a slob. In what world is it acceptable to leave bloody clothes lying around.’
