A Manly resident has revealed all about the ’embarrassing’ moment global superstar Pink was denied entry to an Australian club because she had no ID.
Markets manager Mark Eymes rocked Australia this week by saying he saw 48-year-old Pink being ejected from the Manly Skiff Club on Monday night, and has now opened up about the awkward blunder during a TV appearance.
Appearing on Nine’s A Current Affair on Thursday, he spoke to host Allison Langdon about his brief encounter with Pink – who is in Australia for her Summer Carnival tour – and how he desperately tried to get her into the iconic club.
Mark said he was ‘disappointed’ she was not allowed to enter the popular local venue because she did not have ID on her, in line with Australian rules, which have since come under fire from locals.
He said he even showed his own membership card to staff in an attempt to get the global superstar into the venue, but to no avail, and cheekily detailed how he stole her 15-seater table after she was turned away at the door .

Pink, 48, was turned away from the Manly Skiff Club on Monday night because he had no ID
Speaking to presenter Allison, he said: ‘I was shocked and a little disappointed. I thought there had to be a way around this and get her in and have a nice dinner with all of us.”
‘I don’t know what they were thinking, I can’t say I’m a fan – I am now because she’s such a nice person, as I realized – I saw her, I could tell it was her! “I couldn’t understand why it seemed like no one else in the club realized who it was,” he said.
Mark explained how he first encountered the singer on the road, before witnessing the awkward encounter while queuing outside the venue – which he visits every week.
He said: ‘I met her on the road about 100 yards from the club. And I was kind of walking behind him and I was like, “Oh, she looks familiar.”
‘And then she politely turned around and said, “Oh look, guys, I’m sorry, we’re walking so slowly, please go around us”.
‘And we just thought, “oh, wow, it’s pink”, and then we got to the club and I heard her say, “we have a booking for 15 people, we’re here to take our booking”, and they said, “Oh, do you have ID?”
He appeared on Nine’s A Current Affair on Thursday and spoke to presenter Allison Langdon about his brief encounter with Pink and how he desperately tried to get her into the iconic club.
“So it immediately started talking about the ID, and she said, ‘No, I don’t have that, I don’t have any ID on me.’ She said, “I have this booking, I paid a 50 percent deposit.”
He revealed he tried to show his own membership card in a bid to get Pink into the venue, but claimed staff were not adhering to the ID rule.
He continued, “I kind of heard it happen, so I jumped over to her line, grabbed my membership card and started waving it around. I said, “look, I’ll sign them up, here’s my card and let’s go”. They just immediately said, ‘No, she has to have her own ID.’
Despite the awkward mix-up, Mark insisted Pink was ‘super cool’ about it, cheekily adding that he was able to sit at her pre-booked table for 15 when she was turned away.
“She thought it was all super cool, you know, a little frustrated like you or I would be. But no, she was great. She’s a great lady, so I’d like to say I’m a fan now,” he said.
‘We didn’t have a booking so we walked around and there was a table for 15 people so we sat down, there were six of us.
‘Then a few other Manly locals were walking around looking for a table, and we said, “Please come with us, this table won’t be used”. Thanks, Pink, that was very kind of you. I hope you get your deposit back though.”

He went on to rave about the Manly Skiff Club, but said he wished there had been a way to get around the rules for the global pop star.
“I want to say that the Skiff Club is a great, I love it, wWe go there every Monday evening – great food, good steaks – but unfortunately they followed the rules. “I’m against the rules, I think it’s too much,” he said.
“I think there should have been a way that you can have some flexibility, there should have been a way around that.”
Host Allison described the mix-up as ‘a bit embarrassing’ as Mark shared his hope that Pink can return to the iconic club on her next visit.
Matt Hazell, secretary manager of the Manly Skiff Club, told Daily Mail Australia: ‘The club deeply regrets any inconvenience caused to P!NK, her family and friends during her recent visit to the club.
‘We sincerely apologize for the misunderstanding surrounding the identity requirement and will use the incident to improve our processes in the future.’
Mark said he was “disappointed” she was not allowed to enter the popular venue because she did not have ID on her, in line with Australian rules, which have since come under fire.
Under the Registered Clubs Act 1976, visitors to clubs are required to present appropriate identification to gain entry to the venues.
However, fand have since slammed ’embarrassing’ rules around club entry in Australia after the awkward blunder.
Spectator Mark’s TV appearance comes after he first told the story Male observer about how Pink was sent away from the venue earlier this week.
He told the publication that he tried to help by notifying the Skiff Club directors and floor manager that Pink was at the entrance and about to be ejected, but to no avail.
“The next moment I saw P!NK and her group walking away, they just locked her out,” he said.
Despite the awkward blunder, Mark insisted she “didn’t throw her weight around” and that she was “really nice” even though she couldn’t enjoy her evening at the venue.
He added: ‘Not once did she throw her weight around, she was really nice despite being a bit upset that she couldn’t get in, it was just such a shame and I felt a bit embarrassed that there was no solution could be found.’
The courier post later revealed where the American superstar ended up after her shocking rejection.
Pink, who considers Australia a ‘second home’, is currently Down Under for her Summer Carnival tour, which kicked off in Sydney last week
After being turned away from the Skiff Club, Pink and her crew took a quick trip down Manly’s East Esplanade to 4 Pines Brewing.
Despite the confusion earlier in the evening, a source who was at the brewery at the time said the singer “looked really happy.”
“They actually all looked happy, enjoying the food and drinks,” the source added.

She has since flown to the Gold Coast with her husband Carey Hart and their children Willow, 12, and Jameson, seven, ahead of her performances in Brisbane on Friday and Saturday.
