A hero who came to the aid of a distraught young woman dragged into the park by a stranger has spoken out, while the man who tried to kidnap her is still on the run.
Police continue to investigate the attempted kidnapping of a woman, 20, who was grabbed and assaulted by an unknown man in Springfield, north of Brisbane, on Saturday night.
The terrifying incident unfolded in front of passing motorists, including mother-of-five Seri Qoon, who stopped in the middle of the road and rushed to help.
She recalled how the woman clung to a temporary fence for life when the man tried to drag her into the nearby park at the entrance to Forest Gully Trail.

“She held on to the fence so tightly that she didn’t go without a fight,” Ms Qoon told Seven News.
“I wanted to know if she was brave. I ran straight to her and hugged her as she was crying and obviously quite inconsolable.
“And I just held her and said she’s safe now.”
At that time, the young woman was walking toward the nearby Orion Springfield Central shopping mall.
A group of cronies also stopped to help chase the man as he fled the scene and ran into the park.
“I heard one of the boys say, ‘Oh, I’ve got his hat!'” Mrs. Qoon said.
“And they waved it like they were about to get it.”

Mrs. Qoon has been thinking about the young woman ever since and hopes she is well.
“I’ve lived it every day since then,” she said.
“I can’t imagine the agony she’s going through.”
Queensland Police have launched an urgent manhunt for the alleged attacker, described as being in his late 20s, of average build, with short dark hair.
Detectives also hope to speak with the cronies who came to the woman’s aid.
They also appealed to anyone with a dash cam or CCTV near the Orion mall on Saturday evenings between 6 and 7 p.m. to come forward.
