Manchester United have inquired about Brentford’s Rico Henry as they look to sign a new left-back ahead of Friday’s transfer deadline.
United are scrambling the market after Luke Shaw suffered a muscle injury that is expected to keep him out for several months.
Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella, Tottenham’s Sergio Reguilon and Barcelona’s Marcos Alonso are all being considered to fill Erik Ten Hag’s squad.
And United are said to have made initial checks on Henry’s situation and potential availability, with the 26-year-old targeting another name.
Henry has been a consistent and impressive performer for Brentford since joining from Walsall in 2016.

He missed just one Premier League game last season and has played in all three of Brentford’s games so far this season.
Mail Sport understands he’s in an England first call-up this week, with Gareth Southgate sitting in the stands during Brentford’s season opener against Tottenham and Shaw’s injury potentially also opening the door to the senior squad for Henry, who has the Three to behave. Lions at under 19 and under 20 level.
Getting Henry out of Brentford this late in the season wouldn’t be easy though and it’s clear they might be more open to considering his exit at the end of the season.
Henry would not be cheap either and he is under contract with Brentford until at least 2026.
