Manchester United ‘step up their hunt for £40m Atlanta striker Rasmus Hojlund’ as the Red Devils ‘consider alternative options for Harry Kane’ and Tottenham hesitate to sell to a Premier League rival
- Tottenham are hesitant to sell striker Harry Kane to Manchester United
- The Red Devils could therefore look at other options for the striker position
- Reports suggest they are ramping up their pursuit of Rasmus Hojlund in Atlanta
Manchester United are reportedly on the hunt for Rasmus Hojlund, a £40 million-valued Atlanta striker.
Erik ten Hag is determined to bring in a new striker during the summer transfer window, with Tottenham star Harry Kane heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford.
However, the Red Devils’ hopes of signing Kane are being tested by a stubborn Daniel Levy, who is hesitant to sell to a Premier League rival, while Real Madrid are also in the running for the £100 star million.
This has left United looking at alternative options and Danish striker Hojlund – who has drawn comparisons to Man City’s Erling Haaland – has emerged as one of the leading candidates.
The mirror have reported that United have stepped up their hunt for the 20-year-old striker.

Erik ten Hag wants more competition in offensive positions next season
Hojlund is represented by the SEG agency that also looks after Ten Hag, which could be an advantage for the Carabao Cup holders.
He only joined Atlanta for £15 million last summer and went on to score 16 goals and provide seven assists for the Italian side.
Last week there were reports that Ten Hag had conducted video calls with the youngster.
United are also linked with Eintracht Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani and have held talks with the German club over the striker, as reported by The athletic.
Kolo Muani still has a four-year contract at Frankfurt and would be a more expensive option as the Bundesliga team are likely to ask for up to £68.7m (€80m) for the 24-year-old.
Hojlund scored 16 goals and provided seven assists in his debut season for Atlanta
He has just enjoyed the best goalscoring season of his career to date, with 15 goals in the Bundesliga as Frankfurt finished seventh. Only Niclas Fullkrug and Christopher Nkunku (both 16) have scored more goals than him in Germany’s top division.
United are also linked with Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic and Napoli star Victor Osimhen.
However, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has made it clear that he has no intention of selling Osimhen this summer, while a deal for Vlahovic would test United’s finances, and they may prefer a cheaper deal for Hojlund or Kolo Muani.
