Manchester United are reportedly initiating a one-year contract extension for Diogo Dalot amid interest from Barcelona and AC Milan.
The Portuguese right-back’s current contract at Old Trafford expires next summer and many clubs are already monitoring the situation.
The 23-year-old has left his mark on Erik ten Hag’s first-choice right-back, playing 17 times in all competitions and being the only one ever to be present in both the Premier League and Europa League so far this season.

As a result, United are keen to keep Dalot and are expected to trigger an extension until the end of the 2023/24 season, as they continue to discuss possible longer-term contracts, according to The sun.
The same report suggests that both Barcelona and AC Milan are keeping an eye on Dalot’s situation in hopes of catching him for free next summer.
United will try to ensure he stays beyond this season, with the option of a one-year extension, despite Dalot refusing to talk about his long-term future after their 1-0 win over West Ham at the weekend.
Barcelona and AC Milan are said to be monitoring Dalot’s situation at Manchester United
Dalot told air sports: ‘I don’t think it’s time to think about my contract situation. We are working to improve our game as a team.
“I like to play for Man United, as I always try to show. I’m happy – this is the most important.’
Boss ten Hag also spoke after the game to praise Dalot: ‘I am very happy with the development of Diogo. He’s done really well.
‘Like you’ [Gary Neville] mentioned, you played in that position yourself, so you can be critical because you know how to play there, but I think his defensive positions are growing from match to match. His timing, including his duels, is better from match to match.
“I really like him in possession and he has the breath to go up and down” [the wing].
“The development is very good, but I have to say that a club like Manchester United needs two good full-backs because we have a lot of games to cover.”
The 23-year-old declined to comment on his long-term future following their 1-0 win over West Ham
Dalot originally joined the Red Devils for £19 million back in the summer of 2018 from Porto.
Dalot played 34 games in all competitions in his first two seasons with United before being loaned out to AC Milan for the season in 2020/21 after falling out of favor under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The Norwegian still favored Aaron Wan-Bissaka on Dalot’s return to Old Trafford, but interim boss Ralf Rangnick liked him and made sure he made 30 appearances in all competitions last season.
