Manchester United fans have criticized Andre Onana after he gave away a late penalty in the draw against Burnley.
Erik ten Hag’s men failed to build on their win over Sheffield United in midweek as they were held to a 1-1 draw against the Clarets.
United had taken the lead in the 79th minute through Antony’s first Premier League goal of the season.
Just six minutes later, Burnley were awarded a penalty when Onana misjudged the flight of the ball from a cross before catching Zeki Amdouni in the face.
The Burnley striker stepped out and sent Onana the wrong way, giving his side a crucial point at Old Trafford.
And United fans took to social media to make their feelings known, with some calling for the Cameroon international to be sold.
One said: ‘Please sell Andre Onana @ManUtd. It’s a modest request. The same mistake over and over again.’
Another wrote: ‘Onana cost us that match. Anyway, I’ve never seen a goalkeeper make so many mistakes that led to penalties.’
‘How many goals has Onana cost United this season? 2 in the last 2 games…..do you think the total should be at least 6?’ said a third United fan.’
United signed Onana from Inter Milan for £47million in the summer, but the Champions League finalist has had an error-strewn start to his time at Old Trafford.
There were high-profile mistakes against Bayern Munich and Galatasaray in the Champions League and a blow against Brentford in the Premier League.
He appeared to have turned the corner last month after winning the club’s Player of the Month award.
