‘I’m tired of this life!’: Man United fans SMOKE as Chelsea reached verbal agreement with Joao Félix… but others claim Erik ten Hag ‘didn’t need’ the Atlético star as they attacked the ‘ loan installment
- Manchester United target Joao Felix is closing in on a January move to Chelsea
- It comes after Cody Gakpo joined Liverpool after being linked with Old Trafford
- Fans criticized the club for being beaten by a rival to another star striker
- They said the Red Devils had ‘the most frustrating transfer windows’ of any club
Manchester United fans have been sharing their anger after another target slipped through their fingers and joined a rival club.
Joao Félix had been heavily linked with a big-money transfer to Old Trafford in January, but now it appears the 23-year-old is heading to Chelsea after a verbal deal was reached with Atlético Madrid.
United had been chasing the Portuguese star but balked at the loan fee the Spanish club demanded.

If the move goes through, it will be another flop for Erik ten Hag on the transfer market
It comes just days after Cody Gakpo joined Liverpool after months of links with United as Erik ten Hag continues his search for a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ten Hag wanted Gakpo but Old Trafford bosses refused to put up the required £44m, saying they will only seek loan deals.
But fans were quick to vent their anger at the Red Devils’ latest failed transfer, as one tweeted: ‘Let’s all agree, Manchester United transfer windows are the most frustrating of any club!
“We will never be able to get ahead with a transfer as long as there is another club interested in him, we will never be able to get first picks from the manager! I am tired of this life.
Others added that ‘enough is enough’ and bemoaned ‘another star turning down United’.

While many fans lamented that their club didn’t sign Félix, some felt they didn’t need him.
Felix is among the highest rated young players in Europe and has had some excellent moments in his time in Madrid, but some United fans seemed relieved that he was not joining their club.
Could he have had United or Arsenal (although United probably wouldn’t have) and pick a team in crisis? It smells like a mercenary to me,” commented a follower.
There were also those who felt that Ten Hag’s side ‘did not need’ the Portuguese star, arguing that they had saved themselves a ‘huge loan fee’ for a player who still needed ‘development’.
Despite their mishaps off the pitch, United have been in amazing form and sit fourth
Chelsea are expected to pay just under £10m for the loan of Felix, a figure described as “silly” by one fan.
United are currently fourth in the Premier League after winning each of their last four games.
They will face a tough test in their next two league outings when they take on champions Manchester City on Saturday before traveling to Arsenal the following Sunday.
