Manchester United have recalled Alvaro Fernandez from his loan spell at Granada.
Fernandez joined the club on loan in September after spending the previous season on loan at Preston in the Championship.
However, Grenada announced that his time with Nuevo los Carmenes has come to an end in a short statement on their website. website.
Mail Sport reported earlier this week that United were prepared to recall Fernandez as the left-back struggled for minutes, sending him on loan to Portuguese side Benfica.
The Spanish youth international made his debut for Nazaries later that month, making his La Liga debut as a late substitute as the club lost to Girona.

The Spanish youth international has made fourteen appearances in all competitions for the La Liga club
United have started talks to loan the 20-year-old attacker to Benfica for the rest of the season
In October, the 20-year-old was set to make his first start for the club and was substituted on the hour mark as Alexander Medina’s side held Barcelona to a 2-2 draw.
Fernandez played 90 minutes just once during his time at the club, starting the first round of the Copa del Rey with Arosa, where the club suffered a humiliating 3–0 defeat to their fifth opponent.
Consistent starts would prove difficult, with much of his involvement limited to second-half cameo appearances as the club languish five points from safety in La Liga.
The left-back’s final appearance during his time in Andalucia also marked his first win for the club, as goals from Myrto Uzuni and Bryan Martinez secured three points for the second time this season.
