Manchester United are ‘eyeing-up a move for Eberechi Eze next summer’ – with the Crystal Palace star’s £68m release clause set to re-activate in 2025

  • Eberechi Eze has shone for Crystal Palace since joining the club in 2020
  • Eze’s release clause will be activated again next summer and he is expected to attract attention

Manchester United are reportedly keeping tabs on Eberechi Eze over a possible transfer for the Crystal Palace star next summer.

The 26-year-old Eze has been a star at Selhurst Park since joining Palace from QPR in 2020. The attacking midfielder has cemented his place in the England squad after his impressive performances.

He was part of the Three Lions squad at Euro 2024 and many were surprised that the 26-year-old did not leave in the summer transfer window, although Palace did sell Michael Olise to Bayern Munich for £50million.

Mail Sport reported last week that Eze’s £68million release clause will be reactivated next summer after expiring before the start of the 2024-25 Premier League season.

And according to Manchester Evening NewsUnited are already planning several additions in 2025, with one-star Eze being considered.

According to the report, Erik ten Hag’s side are keen to sign a striker or attacking midfielder as they look to strengthen their flanks next summer.

Eze, who is contracted to Selhurst Park until 2027, has scored 28 goals and provided 17 assists in 128 games for the Eagles.

The report also states that, in addition to a winger, United are also looking for a centre-back, a left-back and a central midfielder.

United had two bids rejected for Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite last summer, but the company are keeping an eye on the 22-year-old ahead of a potential return to the market.
