Manchester United’s transfer planning for next summer is already in full swing despite this year’s window recently closing, a report has revealed.

Segio Reguilon, Jonny Evans, Sofyan Amrabat and Altay Bayindir also arrived in a bid to help Erik ten Hag improve on a successful first season in charge.

However, the new season is not going according to plan so far. United recorded two wins and two defeats in their first four games of the season to finish 11th in the Premier League.

United would focus on four major signings, because Ten Hag must be patient to build his own team.

Several current players are likely to play their final season for the club, with performances expected in various areas of the pitch. The club wants to strengthen itself at central defender, wing back, central midfield and in attack.

One of the names said to be under consideration is Brighton’s teenage sensation Evan Ferguson, who scored his first Premier League hat-trick in his side’s 3-1 win against Newcastle last weekend.

The Republic of Ireland international recently signed a new five-year contract with the Seagulls, but it is suggested he could move on for a hefty fee next year.

Despite the arrival of Danish international Hojlund, who made his first appearance before the international break in United’s 3-1 defeat against Arsenal, Ten Hag is keen to add another striker to his ranks.

The Red Devils have also been linked with Bayer Leverkusen duo Jeremy Frimpong and Edmond Tapsoba, while Amrabat could join permanently following his loan deal at Fiorentina.

In terms of spending, Anthony Martial could finally leave the club after another disappointing season, while Scott McTominay and Harry Maguire are among those certain to leave.

Mason Greenwood is technically still a Manchester United player despite his loan to Getafe, and Brandon Williams, Evans and Donny van de Beek are also allowed to leave.

Jadon Sancho’s future is also up in the air after he publicly criticized Ten Hag after the Dutchman made comments about his training performances, while Antony is taking time away from the club as he faces domestic violence allegations.
