Man with samurai sword making threats arrested in Walmart, police say
VANCOUVER, Wash. — A man wielding a samurai sword and threatening to hurt people was arrested after entering a Walmart store in southwestern Washington state, police said.
Several people called 911 Sunday around 5:30 p.m. about a man walking in Vancouver traffic with a sword while shouting and making threats to injure people, Vancouver police said in a news release Monday.
The man walked into the Walmart just before police arrived. Officers began evacuating the store, quickly found the man and had him surrender. No one was injured, police said.
The 43-year-old man also had a 5-inch knife in his pocket, according to police. Police say he could face harassment and other charges.
