An Illinois man who lured a teenager to his home with the promise of a Pocahontas Disney cup and then strangled her has been sentenced to 50 years behind bars.
On Monday, an Illinois judge sentenced Arthur Jensen, 54, to five decades in prison for the murder of Adara Bunn, 17, on Aug. 5, 2019. The decision ends five years of court hearings in the case.
Jurors found Jensen guilty of two counts of first-degree murder in March for strangling the teen when she came to his home.
That’s what state attorney Michael Quinlan said PEOPLE: “This is one of the worst murder cases I’ve ever seen.”
DailyMail.com contacted Quinlan for more information about the case and sentence.
Prosecutors said police were called to his home by neighbors who heard yelling and screaming around 4:15 p.m. on the fateful August day.
Adara Bunn, 17, had gone to the house after attending a garage sale a few days earlier

When officers arrived, prosecutors said Jensen told them, “There’s a girl inside and I strangled her.”
Bunn’s body was found inside, strangled as Jensen claimed, and he was immediately arrested.
Investigators determined that Bunn had been at Jensen’s home during a neighborhood flea market the weekend before her murder.
Jensen had told her he had Disney cups she could buy, so she came back the following Monday.
The case was the first homicide in Iroquois County, Illinois, since 2016. The county has a population of about 27,000 and is located about two hours south of Chicago.
Jensen was convicted of first-degree murder in March.
At sentencing on Monday, the judge credited him for three years he has already served in custody, leaving him 47 more years to spend behind bars.
Jensen will be over 100 years old at the time of his release, if he makes it to that age.
An obituary for Bunn, also known as Sissy, read: “Sissy enjoyed reading, fishing and school, among other things. She was a great joy to everyone around her’

Following her death in 2019, Milford Area Public School said, “The Milford Area Public School community is mourning after hearing of the death of one of our high school students yesterday.
“We as a staff, student organization and community are suffering for this loss.
‘We want to offer all interested students comfort and support in the coming days by giving advice.’
Sheldon resident Ray Huff previously told COOL that Jensen seemed like an “easy guy” and that the crime left locals dumbfounded.
After Bunn’s death, there were strong reactions from the small community. Lisa K. Lynch Steeples posted on Facebook: “I would tear him apart from limb to limb..what a coward, vicious sicko..man, it’s just an innocent girl..could be anyone’s child!!! I’m crazy as hell…”
While Kristina Cook Hull added, “The heartbreak this family is going through is unimaginable.”
