Manchester United made matters worse for Arsenal and Mikel Arteta after knocking the Gunners out of the FA Cup with a barbed social media post.

The club first responded to their shootout win in one word, simply posting to X: “Justice.”

This appeared to be in response to Kai Havertz’s crucial shootout miss, which was at the center of controversy throughout the match.

After going softly down to win a penalty in the second half, the cameras appeared to catch Harry Maguire waving a ‘cheat’ on Havertz before a mass brawl broke out between the two groups of players.

Martin Odegaard stepped up to the spot with the intention of drawing the home side in and giving the Gunners the lead.

However, Altay Bayindir produced a stunning save to keep the match level, requiring extra time and penalties to find a winner.

Now public enemy number one among the United faithful, Havertz’s problems were compounded when his tame penalty was saved in the shootout, with his miss marking the premature end to Arsenal’s FA Cup season.

Man United’s X-admin piled on the German’s woes, claiming ‘justice’ had been served for Havertz following his antics earlier in the match.

United then went on to poke fun at Gunners boss Arteta after full-time, seemingly mocking the Spaniard’s bizarre comments about the Carabao Cup ball after their defeat to Newcastle in midweek.

“It’s just different,” Arteta said on Tuesday. ‘It’s very different to Premier League ball and you have to adapt to that.

“It flies differently… when you touch it, the grip is very different, so you have to adapt to that.”

Man United’s official accounts chose to not-so-subtly mock Arteta’s penchant for ball physics after their win at the Emirates, posting on X: ‘This ball flies a lot.’

The tide then turned against the Red Devils when Diogo Dalot was punished for a reckless challenge, with the referee treating the tackle as a second bookable offence.

Arsenal promptly found the equalizer through Gabriel’s deflected shot, with United fans fearing the game could quickly get away from them.

But after battling through the remainder of the second half and extra time, Ruben Amorim’s side managed to take the lead on penalties, with Joshua Zirkzee putting United’s fifth and final penalty past David Raya and their place in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
