Manchester United winger Antony left the stadium on crutches on Thursday after being carried off the pitch on a stretcher during the 1-1 draw against Fenerbahce.
The Red Devils recorded three draws from three games in this season’s Europa League as they shared the points with the Turkish side led by former boss Jose Mourinho.
Christian Eriksen brilliantly finished off a fine team move to open the scoring in the 15th minute, but the hosts hit back through Youssef En-Nesyri shortly after half-time.
Erik ten Hag brought on Antony in the 73rd minute, hoping that the Brazilian could help his team find a winner.
However, his cameo lasted just 16 minutes as he told the bench he had to retire due to injury.

The problem initially seemed relatively harmless, but Antony then fell to the turf and a stretcher was needed to remove him.
And the severity of the injury became clear as the 24-year-old was pictured leaving the ground on crutches while wearing a protective boot.
It is another blow for the former Ajax player, whose only start this season came in the Carabao Cup third round victory over Barnsley.
Antony has contributed just 12 goals and five assists since his £86million move in the summer of 2022.
After the match, Ten Hag admitted that he felt sorry for the winger.
“It’s really bad luck for him,” he said. ‘I really feel sorry for him as he worked so hard in training.
‘His training performance is so good that he deserved to come on. If you have to get rid of it so quickly, it’s really sad to see. Hopefully it won’t be too bad, we have to wait 24 hours for the assessment.’
Antony has only started one game this season and continues to struggle at the club
Thursday’s result puts United in 21st place in the 32-team Europa League.
Only goal difference keeps Ten Hag’s men out of the automatic elimination spots and the pressure on the Dutch manager shows no signs of easing.
