Man United suffer major injury blow as Erik ten Hag gives Bruno Fernandes update

Erik ten Hag refuses to exclude Bruno Fernandes from Man United’s top-four clash with Tottenham despite ankle injury sustained in FA Cup semi-final

Bruno Fernandes still has an outside chance to be fit for Manchester United’s top-four battle with Tottenham on Thursday night.

Fernandes suffered an ankle injury during United’s FA Cup semi-final victory over Brighton at Wembley on Sunday and was pictured with his foot in a protective foot next to a set of crutches.

But Erik ten Hag has not ruled out Fernandes from the trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and will give the Portuguese star every chance to be fit.

“We have to wait and see how Bruno Fernandes is doing, we don’t know that yet,” said Ten Hag.

“It is more common for players to be protected for prevention, but it must be arranged. You saw him play a full game and that happened in the first half. Tomorrow is soon, but we have to see what is possible from now on.’
