Man United stars and their WAGs hit the red carpet at their player of the year gala

Manchester United stars dressed to impress as they take to the red carpet for the club’s year-end ceremony on Monday night.

The Red Devils and their partners were spotted in suits and boots as they celebrated their 2022-2023 campaign for their senior and academy teams.

A number of prestigious awards were handed out that night, including the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year, which was claimed by on-form striker Marcus Rashford.

The event provided United’s stars a moment to reflect on their impressive campaign, which has seen them re-establish their place in the Premier League’s top four.

However, despite their success this season, United boss Erik ten Hag reminded his players that they still “have to do better” in preparation for next season.

Speak at night, said Ten Hag: ‘They know it for me, good is not good enough. We have to do better. But of course after the start [of the season], Brighton and Brentford… we are happy. We’re in the right direction. But satisfied? No, we are not.

“If you show confidence and belief in the plan and your teammates, you win. We’ve done it in so many games. But we have also faced setbacks.

‘So it is a resilient team with character and personality. These are all qualities you need for a successful season and [to] win trophies.”

Ten Hag also reminded his United stars that, despite their end-of-season trophies, the campaign was not over and they still had one crucial game to play.

The Red Devils will face rivals Manchester City in the FA Cup final on June 3. United, if they win, will secure a historic double while City can take the Treble.

‘We have to do better. We have a good base, but we need to improve. We have one more game to go and it’s a great opportunity to take the next big step,” said ten Hag.

‘Then we have to raise our bar after the summer and do even better. The competition is tough. Our competitors will reach higher levels and we should at least do the same.

“But I don’t think it’s good enough. We don’t want to stay here, we want to move up and compete for the top two.’

United finished third in the Premier League, nine points behind second-placed Arsenal. Despite ten Hag’s disappointment, it was a significant improvement on their sixth-place finish last year – before his arrival.
