Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has reportedly been given a four-figure fine after being caught speeding.
According to The sunMaguire, 31, committed the offence while driving his black Land Rover on the afternoon of March 7. He was caught speeding at 68mph in a 60mph zone on the A616 near his home in Sheffield.
Maguire pleaded guilty to the charge at the earliest opportunity, meaning he did not have to appear in court.
His case was heard at Sheffield Crown Court on Monday and he was fined £670, plus a £268 victim surcharge and £90 in legal costs, bringing the total costs to £1,208. Maguire was also given three points on his driving licence.
The England international was caught speeding just two days before missing United’s 2-0 Premier League win over Everton at Old Trafford.

He had also missed United’s previous two games through injury, and Post Sport reported at the time that he was trying to push the pain threshold to return for the Premier League match.
He did not make the matchday squad but did play in the international break against Brazil the following week before returning to United at the end of March.
In early May, Maguire suffered a muscle injury and missed the final weeks of the season, after which he was ruled out of Euro 2024.
He later described that period as ‘the most difficult time of my career’, because I had not played in United’s FA Cup final and also not in England’s European Championship final, where they were beaten by Spain.
Maguire has been part of United’s squad for every game this season so far and captained the team in their 7-0 Carabao Cup win over Barnsley last week.
However, he has lost his starting place for United in their last three league games, with Erik ten Hag preferring the central defensive duo of Matthijs de Ligt and Lisandro Martinez.
Post Sport has contacted Maguire’s representatives for comment.
