Man United ‘speak to Adrien Rabiot’s mother AGAIN’, with Erik ten Hag ‘still a big fan’

Man United ‘talk to Adrien Rabiot’s mum AGAIN’, with Erik ten Hag ‘still a big fan of the Juventus midfielder’ ahead of a proposed summer transfer

Manchester United have reportedly held talks with Adrien Rabiot’s mother for a second successive summer to rekindle the midfielder’s hunt.

Rabiot’s future is up in the air with Juventus supposedly offering him a new one-year contract to prevent him from leaving as a free agent, while United and Atletico Madrid remain interested parties.

The player’s mother, Veronique Rabiot, acts as his agent and holds the key to a possible transfer for the 28-year-old who has won titles with Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus.

United’s director of football, John Murtough, flew to Turin a year ago for face-to-face talks with Veronique, but returned empty-handed when the club ended their pursuit over the player’s high wage demands.

However, Erik ten Hag has remained a big fan of Rabiot and wants the club to resume negotiations in an attempt to reach a deal as soon as possible, according to CaughtOffside.

The Red Devils have apparently had renewed talks with the mother of the midfielder, Veronique Rabiot

Initial talks have apparently taken place and a decision on the midfielder’s future is expected in the coming days, with Rabiot unsure of offers from across Europe.

Juventus previously accepted a £14 million bid from United for the France international last summer, but could miss out on the eventual transfer fee if they cannot convince Rabiot to sign a new deal.

An impressive season in Serie A concluded with the combative midfielder making 32 appearances, scoring eight goals and providing four assists.

Rabiot is wanted by numerous European clubs after another impressive season at Juventus

United are having a slow start to their summer transfer amid ongoing uncertainty over the club’s takeover.

Ten Hag is looking to strengthen his side that finished third in the Premier League last season and take the Carabao Cup title, but is missing more silverware after losing the FA Cup final to Man City.

Bringing in a new star striker remains the club’s priority, but there is also a need for new midfield staff and Rabiot would be a cheap deal for a player of European descent.

Meanwhile, the 13-time Premier League champions seem focused on finding a new club for Dean Henderson, with the back-up keeper not ready for a return to Old Trafford after seemingly annoying Ten Hag.
