Mason Greenwood was given his marching orders on Tuesday evening after reacting angrily during Getafe's LaLiga clash with Rayo Vallecano.
Greenwood's side were already 2-0 down after half-time and were already down to 10 men after an earlier double yellow, but were dealt another blow after being sent off after 50 minutes for dissent.
The forward has been loaned out to Manchester United this season after joining from the Premier League giants on transfer deadline day.
During the match, when the hosts desperately needed a goal to get back into the draw, Greenwood collected the ball around the halfway line before dribbling through three Rayo Vallecano players.
After a one-two with his teammate, Greenwood breaks towards the visitors' goal, but is plagued by two defenders hot on his heels.

The English loanee is finally stopped, but when no foul is called, he turns angrily towards the referee and appears to gesture that a number of perceived fouls have occurred in the phase of play.
He then gestures with his hand and appears to shout something in the direction of the match official.
Greenwood walks off, but the referee then reaches into his back pocket and produces the red card, compounding Getafe's misery after just 50 minutes.
To make matters worse, Damian Suarez was sent off from the bench after being substituted for Omar Alderete, while the home side scored no fewer than three red cards in the match.
