Former Manchester United greats insisted the club would not sack Erik ten Hag despite mounting pressure on him.
A 4-3 defeat in Copenhagen, where United capitulated in two separate spells, has increased the pressure on the Dutchman.
Despite the club being bottom of the Champions League group and having lost nine of 17 games this season, club legends lined up to emphasize that this is not the time to sack Ten Hag.
‘I think you should stay with the manager, but it’s a poor result. It is a very bad result,” said Rio Ferdinand TNT Sports.
Scholes said: “I still don’t feel like there’s that much pressure on him. He has had a good year, he has gained some time in that respect, he has had serious injuries, but nine defeats in seventeen games is not good enough.

“I know managers were fired in that second or third year. I don’t think we can afford it anymore. I think we should let this guy go. I think he’s done a good job so far.
‘He had a bit of bad luck with the broadcast tonight. They’re going to play better teams than Copenhagen, but I thought there was a bit of a fight tonight, just without leadership. Maybe things would be different if Casemiro were there.
‘Only a little discipline and lack of concentration (was missing). Fatigue does affect your concentration. Dalot lost his concentration and the next goal was a mistake. It’s just that breakdown, it’s hurting them right now. Once they get one, it seems like the second is coming and they can’t win games if that happens every week.
Hargreaves added: ‘No (press Ten Hag). For twenty, thirty minutes, given the pressure they were under, they played good football, they tried to play from the back, the distance between them was better.
