- Manchester United player Luke Shaw returned to training on Wednesday morning

Luke Shaw has given Manchester United a huge boost by returning to training for the first time in three months.
Shaw played in the first two games of the season against Wolves and Tottenham, but has been out since mid-August after a serious thigh muscle injury.
The 28-year-old England defender has returned to first-team training at Carrington this week and is now in contention for a series of key games, starting with Sunday’s visit to Everton.
United have struggled at left-back in Shaw’s absence. Tyrell Malacia is yet to play this season after undergoing knee surgery and signing Sergio Reguilon, who was also missing due to a hamstring injury and illness.
The problem has led to right-footed defenders Diogo Dalot and Victor Lindelof, and midfielder Sofyan Amrabat, filling in at left-back.

Shaw’s dismissal has also been cited as one of the reasons for Marcus Rashford’s loss of form this season, depriving United of their successful partnership on the left flank.
There is more good news for manager Erik ten Hag. Goalkeeper Andre Onana has been able to train over the past two days, despite a groin injury he sustained during an international match with Cameroon.
Onana was injured during the World Cup qualifying win over Mauritius and flew back to Manchester on Sunday before Cameroon drew with Libya.
However, he has made a full recovery and is expected to be in goal for United at Goodison Park.
Meanwhile, centre-back Lisandro Martinez is busy with his recovery after foot surgery
Lisandro Martinez watched Wednesday’s session from the sidelines as he continues his comeback from a broken foot that required a second surgery.
Martinez is following an individual training program at Carrington after spending time at home in Argentina, but he and Brazilian midfielder Casemiro are not expected back in action until January.
Rasmus Hojlund is still a doubt for Sunday’s match after adjusting his right hamstring during the win over Luton before the international break.
Hojlund was withdrawn from Denmark’s matches against Slovenia and Northern Ireland along with his United teammate Christian Eriksen, who suffered a knee injury against Luton and is expected to be out until mid-December.
