Leny Yoro is back in full training with Manchester United for the first time in more than three months since suffering a broken metatarsal during the pre-season tour.
The Frenchman was welcomed back by his teammates at Carrington on Wednesday morning when he was forced to run through a corridor of players as they patted him on the head.
It is understood he is unlikely to be available for selection until after the international break, when new manager Ruben Amorim will have started his new job replacing Erik ten Hag.
Yoro never made a league appearance under Ten Hag after becoming the Dutchman’s most expensive signing of the summer transfer window, with a move from Lille worth £59 million.
He has been out of action since sustaining the injury during United’s defeat to Arsenal in Los Angeles at the end of July. After making his debut against Rangers in Edinburgh, the 18-year-old lasted less than half an hour against the Gunners at the SoFi Stadium before limping off.

Yoro remained with the rest of the United party in San Diego and South Carolina for the rest of the tour, although he required a protective boot and crutches, and subsequently underwent surgery on his return to England.
Yoro’s comeback is well-timed given Amorim’s appointment and expectations that the Sporting Lisbon boss will want to implement his favored 3-4-3 system at United. The gifted defender is seen as one of the United players who would be better suited to playing with three players at the back.
Yoro was not the only one to return to training at Carrington ahead of Thursday’s Europa League match against PAOK Salonika at Old Trafford. Christian Eriksen, who has missed the past two matches, was back on the grass with Antony, who was taken off with an ankle injury during the draw against Fenerbahce in Istanbul two weeks ago. Mason Mount also trained after rejoining the group this week, as the midfielder works his way back from his latest injury lay-off
