Luke Shaw is a doubt for Manchester United’s trip to Luton on Sunday, but Erik ten Hag is willing to hand the left-back back until the day to prove his fitness.
The England international was taken off the pitch as a precaution at half-time in the 2-1 win over Aston Villa, leaving Victor Lindelof to replace the left-back.
Asked about Shaw’s availability ahead of the trip to Kenilworth Road, Ten Hag was cautiously optimistic.
“Luke is a doubt for next weekend but we are confident he can make it,” the United boss said.
“He came in as a precaution, it was in the right direction and we are working until Sunday.”

‘It’s taking too long and it’s bad for him, bad for us. But now we have turned a point around and it is positive and he will return to the field soon. It won’t be long before he returns to first-team training.”
