Man United fans slam injured star Luke Shaw for ’embarrassing’ TikTok dance with Molly-Mae Hague with the Premier League giants ‘fighting relegation’

Manchester United supporters have criticized injured star Luke Shaw for featuring in a TikTok with Molly-Mae Haag while the club were struggling in the Premier League.

Shaw and his wife Anouska partied with Love Island star Haag at a lavish party on New Year’s Eve.

The England international featured in a TikTok video, with Shaw saying “Your mum’s on benefits” as part of a trend.

Some Man United fans criticized Shaw on social media, labeling his performance in the clip as ’embarrassing’, while highlighting the club’s current problems.

The Red Devils are currently in fourteenth place in the Premier League, after a run of four defeats in a row.

Shaw has been limited to just 68 minutes of top-flight action this season, with the left-back picking up an injury in 2024.

“Manchester United in the worst form of my life and Luke Shaw doing TikToks with Molly Mae,” one fan wrote.

Another said: ‘Luke Shaw doing TikTok’s with Molly Mae, he would never play again if Fergie was still in charge. Embarrassing club?!”

‘There has to be a sense of professionalism. This player in particular has been unavailable for the equivalent of four years while earning £150,000pw. We are fourteenth,” wrote a third.

‘This is not acceptable for any Manchester United player, especially one whose contribution is minimal.

Another fan wrote: ‘I’m scrolling on tiktok and I can’t believe someone just told me my mum is on benefits while my club is fighting relegation because my head is hot.’

However, other fans came to Shaw’s defense as they insisted the star should be able to have a social life away from the game.

“Yeah, I forgot that if someone is having a terrible time at work, they’re not allowed to go out and celebrate New Year’s Eve or have a social life,” one fan defended Shaw.

‘Fans are so toxic it’s embarrassing! “Yes, if a player is allowed to have some fun and banter with his friends and family during the new year, get over it.”

Shaw shared an emotional statement on social media last month after confirming he had suffered a ‘minor setback’.

“Hello guys, it hurts a lot to have to write this because I really thought I had gotten through my recent struggles and was on a positive path for the future, but unfortunately I have had a minor setback,” Shaw wrote.

‘I’ve been through a lot and had a lot of ups and downs, but this has definitely been my toughest period.

‘I am absolutely devastated and it is extremely difficult to face the reality at the moment.

“I understand that there will be people frustrated, angry and disappointed and I understand all that. There is no one who feels that more than me right now.

‘But what I can promise is that I will do everything I can to bounce back quickly and help this club realize its ambitions this season.

‘Thank you to everyone for the support. It really doesn’t go unnoticed and I really appreciate it.’

Injuries limited Shaw to just eight Man United appearances in 2024, while he made three appearances for England at the 2024 European Championship.

Man United will hope to address their poor form when they play Liverpool this weekend.

The Red Devils go into the match against the Premier League leader only seven points above the relegation zone.
