Manchester United are reportedly eyeing a swap deal involving Marcus Rashford in a bid to provide head coach Ruben Amorim with attacking reinforcements.
United are willing to let Rashford leave in the January transfer window after he was dropped by Amorim.
The forward was left out of the four matchday squads before appearing on the bench in the Red Devils’ 2-0 defeat to Newcastle on Monday.
Rashford will only go to a competitive club and league that would give him a chance to regain his place in the England squad.
Mail Sport understands he has rejected three mega-money offers from the Saudi Pro League, which would have eclipsed his £315,000-a-week contract at United, and has also ruled out any move to Turkey.
Despite saying last month that he is ‘ready for a new challenge and the next steps’ in his career, Rashford is open to staying at United, where he is under contract until June 2028.
Man United are reportedly considering offering Marcus Rashford in a swap deal in January
The Red Devils could reportedly offer Rashford in exchange for Victor Osimhen
The swap deal would help Man United boss Ruben Amorim boost his attacking options
According to the sunMan United are considering Rashford’s offer in a swap deal to land Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.
Osimhen, who has a £62m buyout clause in his contract, is currently on loan at Turkish giants Galatasaray.
The Nigerian star was loaned out after being expelled from Napoli’s squad after seeing a move to the Premier League fall through in the summer.
Osimhen was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea during the summer transfer window.
The forward signed for Napoli in 2020 and has scored 76 goals in 133 appearances in all competitions for the Italian giants.
He guided Napoli to their first title in 33 years in 2022/2023 and scored 26 league goals in his most impressive season in blue.
Osimhen scored 12 goals in 15 games for Galatasaray this season and demonstrated his quality by scoring twice against Tottenham in the Europa League.
A deal to sign Osimhen would improve Man United’s forward line as the Red Devils have scored just 21 goals in 19 Premier League matches this season.
Rashford is keen to move to a competitive club to improve his chances of an England recall
Napoli manager Antonio Conte is reportedly interested in Rashford as the club look to win Serie A
Napoli manager Antonio Conte is reportedly interested in a deal for Rashford as the club pushes for the Serie A title.
Conte’s side are currently second in the table, with Atalanta ahead only on goal difference.
Rashford would be reunited with former Man United stars Romelu Lukaku and Scott McTominay if he moves to the Italian side.
United will listen to offers for Rashford this month as they look to meet profit and sustainability rules, and are also said to be considering a loan move if his new club pays a fee and covers the majority of his wages.
United’s players are said to be surprised by Rashford’s exclusion as he remains the club’s joint top scorer in the Premier League with four goals.
