Manchester United club doctor Steve McNally will leave the club after 16 years, the club has announced.
McNally will leave the role at the end of January to take up a new role as director of performance support at PGMOL, the body responsible for referees in English soccer.
He joined United in 2006 and worked under Sir Alex Ferguson for seven seasons, during which the club won the Champions League, Club World Cup and five Premier League titles.

After Ferguson’s retirement, McNally went on to work successfully with five other permanent managers, including most recently Erik ten Hag.
McNally will be replaced on an interim basis by Dr. Jim Moxon while the club searches for a permanent successor. Moxon, who most recently worked as club doctor for Liverpool, will start working with McNally from this week.
