  • The unnamed man, from the US, took to Reddit’s infamous AmItheA**hole forum

A man has revealed his plans to kill Hhis own mother after telling him she was deducting “$35,000” from his inheritance to cover the “religious costs” of having priests pray for his dying father.

The unnamed man, probably from the US, has taken Reddit‘s infamous AmItheA**hole forum to ask if he would be wrong to escalate the family feud.

He explained that his father had died last month and that he would receive $100,000 plus his “share of the life insurance money.”

However, his mother informed him that she is going to deduct $35,000 from her son’s share “to pay for religious nonsense,” in the man’s words.

The message was titled: ‘AITA for starting a legal dispute and refusing to use my share of the inheritance to pay for my mother’s religious nonsense?’

She has spent tens of thousands of dollars on prayers from priests and donations to churches. I thought it would come out of her pocket, not my inheritance,” he said angrily.

‘I said f**k no, I don’t believe in that nonsense and why would I give half my inheritance for her religious beliefs? I argued and as usual she refused to admit anything had gone wrong and cried like a damsel in distress.

“She started recording me and kept saying that I have no shame and that I am not her son,” he continued in dismay.

“Anyway, I’m leaving and telling her I better have my money by the end of this week or I’ll be contacting lawyers.”

The man added that his mother “posted the whole thing on Facebook and now everyone thinks I’m an evil, selfish bitch.”

At the same time, she has yet to hand over to him the share of the inheritance she withheld without his consent, and he claims to have found a lawyer who will handle his case.

Hundreds of other Reddit users took to the comments to debate the ethics of the situation, with the vast majority agreeing that the son was NTA – or Not The A**hole.

“Go to the lawyer ASAP before your mother writes a big check to those religious bullshit people and your inheritance is gone.

“What about someone who thinks you’re an evil, selfish bitch? Well, they are free to give your mother all their money to give to the religious bullshit people. NTA,” read a comment with the most votes.

A second agreed and also offered an idea on how to respond to all the mother’s supporters on Facebook.

‘NTA. Here’s a way to respond to all her supporters on Facebook…invite them to collectively donate $35,000 out of their own pockets to your mother’s cause and see how quickly they shut up.

“This is your money and it’s a pretty solid case against her if she doesn’t give you what you’re entitled to.

‘Definitely proceed with the lawyer. Hopefully she’s scared enough by the legal threats to cough up your $ without too much fuss,” they stated.

As a third put it about the mother’s hypocrisy: “NTA. The Bible says: Thou shalt not steal, and she is a thief.’

One person responded, saying he agreed: “I came here to say exactly this. You can’t buy your way to heaven, and even if you could, you couldn’t do it with someone else’s money.”
