Man is stabbed and left fighting for life at Melbourne nightclub – as his attackers remain on the run
A man is fighting for his life after being stabbed in a popular nightclub, as staff desperately tried to stop his bleeding with tea towels and tissues.
The incident took place on the dance floor of the Revolver Upstairs on Chapel Street, Prahran, at around 4.30am on Sunday morning.
The 31-year-old was attacked by two assailants and is believed to have sustained serious injuries to his upper body with a machete.
An ambulance took the man to hospital with life-threatening injuries, while the two assailants fled and were last seen running along Macquarie Street.
Police have been called and are currently reviewing CCTV footage from inside and outside the location in an attempt to apprehend the attackers.
On Sunday morning, blood splatters were visible on the sidewalk near the back entrance of the club.
Pieces of police tape were also stuck to the bins at the back, making it appear as if the area had been washed away.
A bloody leather jacket was left nearby under the fence.
