Speaking to CNA in 2023, Tan revealed that he was able to maintain a youthful appearance despite his years thanks to following a strict diet.
He says a typical breakfast consists of protein shakes, or oatmeal with eggs, honey and avocado, while lunch and dinner consist of steamed or grilled proteins, such as chicken or fish, in a broth with rice.
Although he avoids processed foods, he does not completely eliminate treats from his diet and will occasionally eat tempura or a dessert, such as ice cream.
Tan says another important part of maintaining such a healthy lifestyle is having a consistently optimistic attitude, which comes from messages of positivity from far and wide around the world.
