An 18-year-old man is in trouble after admitting to sleeping in the same bed as his 19-year-old brother’s girlfriend in a Reddit post.
‘We stayed in a hotel for a few nights because we were traveling. My brother stayed with his friend and me and his girlfriend for a while when we got back to the hotel,” he explained.
The younger teen continued, “We both tried to take a nap but she got into bed with me because it was really cold and she cuddled up to me to stay warm (we didn’t have extra blankets or anything.)”
His brother saw them in bed together and called them both “disgusting.”
The younger brother thinks this issue is ‘a bit stupid’ but his parents are ‘p*****’ – Is he the a******?
An 18 year old asks Reddit if he’s a ****** for sleeping in the same bed as his 19 year old’s girlfriend
The two were both cold in a hotel room, and lay in bed together to “cuddle” and stay warm
Reddit users have spoken out and they believe the teen caught in bed with his brother’s girlfriend is indeed a ******.
One person said: ‘Soft YTA – I say soft because I give you the benefit of the doubt and believe you when you say nothing happened but… seriously… you thought it was a good idea for you and your brother’s girlfriend to cuddle in a shared bed?’
Another person who responded to that comment said, “Come on dude, do you really believe the hotel didn’t have blankets? This fool lies, lies, lies.’
One Reddit user said, “Yeeehp, YTA. You only use a bed for sleeping or fucking, it doesn’t matter if you only did the former, that’s way too intimate a place to be with your sibling’s SO.”
One user bluntly says, “Sorry dude, but YTA. In bed, cuddling someone in a relationship is a great move. You should have expected a backlash from that.’
Many Reddit users commented on the post, with most saying the 18-year-old teen is a ******. Some Reddit users have also defended him
In a shocking twist, a Reddit user decided to support the 18-year-old and say he is NOT the ******.
He said, ‘I’m going to stick my neck out and say NTA. People over-sexualize sleeping next to another human being.”
He continued, “Which is strange, because in the developing world to this day, and in the United States until about the middle of the last century, unrelated people sharing a bed in a motel while traveling were not at all unusual.’
‘You travel with your brother and your friend who is in a relationship with your brother. Neither of you have sexual intentions with each other. Take a nap with your friend.”
“Everyone else in this situation is mad at you – ASSUMPTING THAT THERE WAS A SEXUAL INTENT – everyone else trying to sexualize your friendship is abusive,” he concluded.
People were quick to argue with the supporter about why his opinion was wrong, but another Reddit user defended him in a lengthy comment.
He said, “U/burner3343, there is nothing inherently wrong with you or the way you approached this situation. Still, others are allowed to be angry, even if it is a result of assuming that you ‘need to know’ how your actions would be interpreted.’
“Neither side is really wrong here, it’s just miscommunication because you’re all young and haven’t learned how to deal with the different ways people approach relationships,” he said.
