Man found dead in water after boat capsized 11 miles off Alkimos, Perth – while two sailors are rescued
A man has been found dead about 11 miles off the coast of Western Australia after a boat capsized.
The man was found dead in the water along with two other men, who were rescued after being found near the upturned ship.
Western Australia Police said the boat was about 11 miles from Alkimos, north of Perth.
Senior Sergeant Jamie Brennan said the men were fishing when they got into trouble.

“The two survivors and the deceased have been returned to shore and the capsized vessel has also been towed here where it has been impounded and is part of the ongoing investigation,” said Snr Sgt Brennan.
Interim information received would indicate that the ship was at anchor, they ran into trouble and shortly afterwards the vehicle capsized.
“They did have emergency equipment on board and the survivors wore life jackets and an orange smoke flare was deployed.”
Sergeant Brennan said he spoke to the two survivors.
The man was found dead in the water along with two other men, who were rescued after being found near the upturned ship.
“They are obviously shocked, as you would expect, to have lost one of their friends, no matter how physically they seem to be fine,” he said.
“There was quite a bit of swell today… the sea can be an unforgiving environment.”
A report is being prepared for the coroner.
