One man has died and another is in hospital after falling from a cliff on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula.

Police said the 24-year-old men from New South Wales were climbing a cliff at Cape Schanck, just off the Two Bays walking trail in Bushrangers Bay, when they fell around 7pm on Friday.

CPR was performed on one of the men, but he died at the scene.

The surviving male was taken to the hospital where he is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

An investigation is underway to determine what caused the fall, however police said they are not being treated as a suspect.
