Bernardo Silva vowed Manchester City will not relinquish control of the Premier League title race after dealing a blow to Arsenal.
Like several players in the City squad, Silva has his sights set on his fifth title in six seasons – and they could top the table for the first time since February with a win over Fulham on Sunday.
This is now the club’s most realistic chance of winning the Treble since Pep Guardiola was appointed in 2016 and the manager hasn’t banned lifting things up in the dressing room.
“He hasn’t forbidden anything,” Silva said. “We are big men and we talk about what we want. We won’t be complacent about the title.
“We are going to take this job very seriously and try to win every game, now targeting Fulham away, which is a tough game.

“These players know that the best way to achieve good things is to just think about the next thing. If we don’t beat Fulham, we’ll put ourselves in a difficult position to win the Premier League.
“I remember in my second season we were also 10 points behind Liverpool and we beat them to win the title.
“We’ve always had those moments of unbeaten runs, from 15 or 20 games, and luckily they came at an important part of the season.”
City are two points behind with a few games to play, while Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale refuses to give up a first prize at The Gunners.
“We haven’t played Premier League football for nine months and played the way we wanted to play only to give up with five games to go,” said Ramsdale.
“If anything is going to happen in football, it’s in this competition. We cannot feel sorry for ourselves. We’ll get over it and the manager will do what the manager does and dissect it and tell us and we’ll do whatever it takes.”
