‘We want revenge’: Bernardo Silva insists Man City are CERTAIN of beating Real Madrid to reach the Champions League final… as Pep Guardiola says all clubs feel ‘they are the 14-time winners’ must beat’ to win the trophy
Bernardo Silva bullishly predicted that Manchester City are on their way to another Champions League final after passing Bayern Munich on Wednesday night.
Erling Haaland scored his 48th goal in a sensational debut season as City beat the Bundesliga champions 4-1 to secure a semi-final clash with Real Madrid.
Silva believes City – beaten finalists in 2021 – will take revenge on Real, who dramatically knocked them out in extra time at the same stadium during a frenzied night at the Bernabeu last year.
“We’re definitely going for it,” said the Portuguese. “We always go for it, but we feel the team is very confident at the moment. I think we’re going through it.
“We are at the point of the season where if you drop your performance in one game you are out of a league. It’s going to be tough, but we’re going to work really hard to bring home some titles.”

Pep Guardiola labeled Haaland an ‘incredible machine’ after putting City ahead and becoming the youngest ever player to score 35 goals in Europe.
And the manager insisted that the aggregate win was not a fair reflection of the two legs.
“I’m so happy with three semi-finals in a row to be honest, the result doesn’t fully show the two games,” said Guardiola. “They are so good, the physicality, the ideas.
“I’m always impressed when I play against them, but this game is always about the details. Last year against Madrid we lived the opposite part of that. Tonight we were incredibly solid, very well defended. This is where we have improved the most.
“I don’t feel we are better than Bayern at all. Like I didn’t feel that Real Madrid was better than us. These games are a coin.
“All clubs feel that if they want to win this competition, they have to beat Real Madrid.”
