REVEALED: Man City have entered into initial talks over a move to Jude Bellingham amid growing confidence.
- Jude Bellingham are interesting for Manchester City as they strengthen their midfield
- The English star is currently thriving in Germany playing for Borussia Dortmund
- Man City have made initial talks for Bellingham, confident he will go there
- Relations between the two clubs are very strong after the sale of Erling Haaland
- Summer may be too early, but it’s likely Bellingham won’t see the Dortmund deal
There is growing belief, according to those with knowledge of the situation, that Jude Bellingham’s next club will be Manchester City.
Sports post understands that the Premier League champions, along with a number of key rivals at home and abroad, are keen to take over the 19-year-old midfielder from Borussia Dortmund.
And they are now seen as the likely winners of what would become a major transfer battle.
Relations between City and Dortmund are strong, following Erling Haaland’s summer switch between the two, and initial talks have been held at City’s end.
A move may not happen for some time, with the prospect of a strong performance at the World Cup that will price the England man out of the market. However, it is highly unlikely that he will waive his contract in Germany.
City boss Pep Guardiola cheered Bellingham when the two sides clashed in the Champions League this season. He called him ‘the whole package’ and praised his development after arriving at Dortmund from Birmingham City.
“He was 17 when he arrived but it wasn’t just about his quality, how he led, his kicks, going to the referee,” he said.
“This man was something special in mentality. Now he is 19 and already one of the captains.
‘The quality, everyone knows it. The whole package is really good.’
Liverpool and Real Madrid are among those on the hunt.
