Manchester City are reportedly completing a deal to sign Argentine wonderkid Claudio Echeverri from River Plate for a fee of £22 million.
The 17-year-old is one of Argentina's most promising talents and Pep Guardiola's side have acted quickly to secure his signature, as they previously did with River Plate's Julian Alvarez.
This is reported by an Italian journalist Fabrizio Romanothe deal documents are exchanged between the Citizens and River Plate to seal the agreement.
However, Guardiola won't be able to get his hands on the youngster immediately, as Romano revealed that Echeverri will star at River Plate until December 2024.
The Argentinian will put pen to paper on a six-year contract to become the latest signing for last season's Treble winners.

Echeverri has made four appearances in total this season but spent time at the Under-17 World Cup last month, where he impressed for Argentina.
During his time at the tournament, the winger scored five goals and finished second for the golden boot, while Argentina finished fourth.
In recent times he has attracted interest from the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, AC Milan and Inter Milan.
However, Man City have stepped in to sign the 17-year-old, with him returning to River on loan as part of the transfer.
The same happened when City completed the signing of Alvarez from River in January 2022, allowing him to remain at the Argentine club until the end of the season.
It remains to be seen where the youngster fits into the plans at Man City, who let Cole Palmer leave this summer.
The likes of Oscar Bobb and Micah Hamilton have already been given opportunities to impress in Guardiola's wing this season and Echeverri could contribute to the league in years to come.
