A man has been charged with murder after a woman died five days after suffering serious facial injuries in an alleged attack at a caravan park.

Zachary Mills, from Coffs Harbor on NSW’s Mid North Coast, was arrested by Queensland police officers in Park Ridge about 10am on Sunday.

The 30-year-old appeared in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday, where NSW Police successfully applied for an extradition warrant.

Mills was extradited to NSW, where police were told Christine Mills, 58, had died at Coffs Harbor Base Hospital on Monday as a result of her injuries.

Mills was taken to Tweed Heads police station and charged with murder of DV.

He appeared at Tweed Heads Local Court on Tuesday, where documents revealed he allegedly seriously injured Ms Mills on October 2.

Police were called to Big 4 Park Beach Holiday Park on Ocean Pde, Coffs Harbor at around 5.25pm ​​that evening and found Ms Mills with facial injuries.

She was rushed to Coffs Harbor Base Hospital for treatment but died five days later.

Mills is further charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm to Mrs Mills, and with twice breaching a domestic violence order on September 30 and October 2 in Coffs Harbour.
