A homeless man has been charged with murder after a pharmacist was found dead in his home.
The man suffered multiple stab wounds at his townhouse on Davidson Street in Bellfield, in Melbourne’s north-east, about 11.30am on Wednesday.
A friend of the victim reportedly found his lifeless body when he went to check on him after he failed to show up for work.

A 54-year-old man, of no fixed address, was arrested nearby and charged with murder.
He was remanded in custody and was due to appear in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.
Police say the victim and the 54-year-old did not know each other.
The victim is a young pharmacist who had only bought his house earlier this year, Nine news reported.
Neighbors said they heard screams from a woman inside the home for about 10 minutes late Tuesday night and called police.
Police responded to the scene and returned Wednesday morning when the body was found.
