Man is charged with allegedly attempting to assault a woman in the early hours of the morning

A man has been charged after attempting to sexually assault a woman in the early hours of the morning.

A man allegedly attempted to sexually assault the woman on Mitchell Street in Sydney’s North Bondi at 3:40am on Friday.

Police launched a search before arresting a 35-year-old man during a routine traffic check on Doncaster Avenue, Kensington at around 4.30pm a day later.

The man, who is from Randwick, was taken to Waverley Police Station and charged with five offences.

Attempted assault without consent, sexually touching a person without consent and stalking/harassment with intent to cause physical harm etc. were among the charges.

He was also charged with common assault and deliberate and obscene exposure in/near public places/schools.

He was denied bail and is due to appear in Parramatta bail tribunal on Sunday.
