Barely! Painful video shows the moment a man caught an out-of-control stroller rolling into traffic after a woman tripped and fell
- An unidentified woman fell and lost her grip on the stroller with the baby strapped into it
- Images show how the pram rolls backwards towards the busy intersection
- A Good Samaritan springs into action and saves the child with only moments left
Heartbreaking video shows the moment a California man catches an out-of-control stroller with a baby in it shortly before it nearly rolled onto a four-lane highway — after the pushing woman tripped and fell.
The terrifying ordeal occurred on Monday when an unidentified woman standing near her vehicle suddenly tripped and fell to the ground, losing her grip on the stroller.
Dramatic footage then shows the pram – carrying the child – speeding backwards towards the fast-moving intersection as the injured and panicked woman struggles to get to her feet.
Within seconds, a Good Samaritan is seen racing towards the speeding pram and catches it with just seconds. Another passerby runs towards the woman who was still lying on the floor and could barely get up.
The poignant video was posted by USSGoodGirl at around 7:30pm Monday with the caption, “Windy AF here today and the pram rolled away… Thank goodness a man catches the pram before something bad happens to this lady’s baby.”
The unidentified woman can be seen on the floor in the photo as the pram begins to roll backwards with the baby strapped into it
The out of control pram is seen driving towards the busy highway because the panicked woman is unable to move
A Good Samaritan is a scene that catches the pram just in the nick of time to save the baby
Someone is heard saying on the video, “Omg…she started running and she fell.”
“They can’t get up because she hurt her knee so badly… she can’t move an inch,” said the other narrator.
Once the random stranger is seen running to help save the baby, the other person watching the video adds, “You’re the man…lifesaver here…perfect timing.”
It is unclear when the incident actually happened and in what area of California it happened. But certain parts of Southern California had had a high wind advisory that day.
It is also not clear who the caretaker of the child was.
The post was viewed more than 20 million times after it was shared on Twitter.
USSGoodGirl wrote, “Oh my god.. I was in a panic. How terrifying! Thank God that man was there.’
But some people watching the video wondered if the stroller’s lock had ever come loose, and with the combination of high winds and no lock, it seemed like a disaster waiting to happen.
Holy Shit!!; one person wrote. ‘Why wasn’t it locked?! I really wouldn’t keep my hands off a pram if the wind was blowing that hard.’

Many shocked viewers agreed and were still reeling from the scene and thankful there was a happy ending.
“I hope the guy who saved the day by catching the pram got some kind of kudos locally. Impressive performance,” one wrote.
While others were still shocked by what could have been a very tragic ending.
“I watched that with my heart in my throat,” one wrote. God bless that man
Another said, ‘The wind is bad today… I held my breath on that one.’
