The 58-year-old man was arrested in the Blue Mountains region on Friday morning following extensive investigations by Strike Force Dilley.
Police were told by a relative of the man that he had allegedly been sexually abused in the early 2000s.

The police will argue in court that the man had been sexually assaulting two young children during a period from January 2001 to December 2005.
A search warrant was executed at a Yellow Rock property on Friday, where they seized several items relevant to the investigation.

The man was charged with 40 counts of aggravated indecent assault of a victim under the age of 16 and four counts of aggravated sexual assault.
He was denied bail to appear in Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday.
Investigations under Strike Force Dilley are ongoing.
