The 58-year-old man was arrested in the Blue Mountains region on Friday morning following extensive investigations by Strike Force Dilley.

Police were told by a relative of the man that he had allegedly been sexually abused in the early 2000s.

The man was charged with 40 counts of aggravated indecent assault of a victim under the age of 16 and four counts of aggravated sexual assault.

He was denied bail to appear in Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday.
