A man has died after “acting erratically” while being held in a police vehicle north of Brisbane.

Queensland police officers were responding to reports of a disturbance in Beachmere on Friday when they spotted the 37-year-old.

“The man continued to act increasingly erratically, prompting officers to subsequently remove the man from the vehicle and provide him with medical attention,” a police statement said.

The man was taken to Caboolture Hospital where he later died.

“The State Coroner has been notified and the Ethics Committee is investigating,” the police statement said.
