A 36-year-old man who hit a pedestrian over the head with a baseball bat on a New York street has been arrested by police.

Karim Azizi was arrested Wednesday morning for attacking a 47-year-old pedestrian in Harlem on November 29.

The victim was unknown to the alleged attacker Azizi, and the assault was completely arbitrary, the New York police told TMZ.

Azizi was charged with attempted assault, assault and criminal possession of a weapon on Wednesday.

Surveillance footage captured the moment the man attacked a pedestrian walking in Harlem with a baseball bat.  The police arrested a suspect: Karim Azizi, 36 years old.

Police released video of the incident showing the suspect walking behind the pedestrian on Amsterdam Avenue near West 148th Street around 10 a.m.

After pausing for a second, the man pulls the baseball bat out of his pants before throwing it with full force at the 47-year-old’s head.

The victim was hospitalized with a cut head and bruises, but was in stable condition after the attack.
