Major development in the baffling case of a man, 38, allegedly stabbed to death in front of his horrified wife as he walked home from a country pub – as the man, 20, faces murder charges

A 20-year-old man has been charged with the alleged murder of a ‘family man’ outside a country pub.
Clint Allen, 38, his wife Bek and three others were leaving The Criterion Hotel in Sale, Victoria, about 200km east of Melbourne, in the early hours of Sunday morning when they were reportedly approached by an ‘unidentified’ knife man.
The group celebrating Bek’s 37th birthday frantically called police at about 1am, as officers arrived to find Mr Allen seriously injured at the York-MacAlister junction.
“Officers located the man and immediately administered first aid until paramedics arrived, but he died at the scene,” Victoria Police said.

His distraught stepdaughter, Makala Lister, who is six weeks pregnant, said the beloved BMX champion and an avid outdoorsman who loved camping, dirt bikes and 4WDs will be sorely missed.
“Clint was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather to his unborn granddaughter,” she told the Announce sun.
‘He was loved by everyone who met him and was always up for a chat on any subject.
“He will forever be missed and loved by everyone he came into contact with.”
Anyone who witnessed the incident or has more information is urged to contact police.
The 20-year-old suspect was remanded to appear before Sale Magistrates’ Court on May 8.
