Mamie Laverock takes first steps nearly three months after shock five-floor fall that left her on life support: ‘I’m standing!’

Mamie Laverock has taken her first steps after a shocking five-story fall that left her on life support nearly three months ago.

The 20-year-old actress, best known for When Calls The Heart, suffered an undisclosed medical emergency on May 11 and was hospitalized.

Two weeks later, she was “escorted from a secure section of the hospital and taken to a balcony walkway where she fell five stories,” according to a post on her GoFundMe. Her mother has publicly stated that the incident was not a suicide attempt.

Now, in a new video on Facebook, Mimi has revealed that she has reached a new ‘milestone’ in her recovery from the disease.

In the now-deleted clip, she can be seen rising from her hospital bed and eventually taking a few steps with the help of a walker, via TeFab.

“Thank you surgeons, thank you prayers, thank you Lord. Mamie just took her first steps,” read the jubilant caption on Facebook.

Her family members, including her mother Nicole Rockmann, were present at the momentous event. Her father John also watched via FaceTime.

At the beginning of the video, she was sitting on her hospital bed with casts on her legs, but she grabbed onto the sides of the walker and pulled herself up.

She was applauded by hospital staff and shouted with excitement, “I’m standing!” adding, “It feels really weird. It feels really weird.”

Mamie confessed that she was “really wobbly” on her feet. When she had to spread her legs, she realized, “Oh my God, the ski boots are really hard.”

Thanks to gentle prompting from the medical staff, she managed to move one of her feet a little, despite initially feeling “like she was going to fall backwards.”

Mamie turned to the phone John was using to keep an eye on her and proudly told her father, “Hi, Dad… Look, I’m here with the walker, all alone.”

Gradually she managed to take a step, then another, as someone off-screen exclaimed, “Oh my god, feet moving! Moving feet!”
