Mama Mila: organisation guru reveals her hack to put on a doona cover perfectly

The ‘queen’ of cleaning and styling, Chantel Mila, has shared her ‘life-changing’ hack to throw on a duvet in seconds.

The Melbourne mother-of-two said the method, which is commonly called a “burrito roll,” works like “magic” and ensures perfect corners every time.

To perform the trick, Mama Mila rolls her sheet onto her bedding until it’s in the shape of a sausage, then unrolls it to reveal a neatly made bed.

“This doona trick can change your life,” he said.

‘If you have a hard time putting on your duvet, this trick helps you save a lot of time and energy!’

Mom laid her comforter down and placed the duvet cover inside out on top, then rolled the comforter and cover together toward the end of the bed.

He pushed the entire rolled quilt through the opening at the bottom of the lid.

He then undid the doona and was already on deck ‘like magic’.

“Perfect corners every time and your bed is made in seconds,” Chantel said.

Chantel’s followers were very impressed with the hack.

Chantel previously shared his simple method for folding bedding into space-saving “bundles.”

Mom can fit a flat sheet, fitted sheet, and two pillowcases into her bedding bundle, and said their easy folding helps “save space, reduce allergens, and neatly fold pack sets.”

1. The bottom sheet

Many have complained about the labor of folding a fitted sheet correctly, but Chantel’s simple method only takes seconds and prevents a wrinkled mess.

Mom first laid the sheet on a flat surface elastic side up and smoothed it out.

He then placed the bottom corners of the sheet in the top corners and folded the left corner inside the right, so that the final shape was a large rectangle.

Next, he simply folded the top and bottom in and continued with the sides until the sheet was a small rectangle.

2. The top sheet

While folding a flat sheet is much easier, Chantel suggested sticking to the same dimensions as the fitted sheet to make it easier to fit into the bedding package.

She then placed the folded flat sheet on top of the fitted sheet and began working on the pillowcases.

3. The pillowcases

The first pillowcase is simple: Chantel folded it into a small rectangle and placed it on top of her pile of linens.

For the second pillowcase, mom started by turning it over and inserting her bundle of bedding into the opening.

He pushed the pieces to the other end of the pillowcase and folded it in half.

‘I use the flap of the pillow to secure the package firmly,’ he finally said.
